My Favorite Japanese Band~!

It's been roughly a year since I first heard their song in an anime opening. Normally if an anime opening sounds good, I go on Youtube to find more songs by the artist.

But this one really changed things for me.
The lyrics, instrumentals, (not to mention the band members, keekee :3) were just so amazing.

Most people in America wouldn't know them, but they need to know about them like.... NOW.
A lot of people always say
"Do you even understand what they're saying?"
     "They look like girls."
"That's so weird. Why do they dress like that?"

Psh.

I've long given up on those kinds of people about 6 months after I've tried to introduce them into the band.
I just think "You just don't UNDERSTAND."
And they don't in a way.
Because I always used the same answers to the same questions.
"I can understand a little of what they're saying. I look up the English lyrics if I don't understand the meaning completely."
"Because I know they're GUYS, I only see them as guys. Not girls. Besides, it's not their fault if they naturally look prettier than you.
"It's not weird. They're a Visual Kei band. Visual Kei is the use of make-up, hair styles, and costumes. It refers to the "visual style of music". It has some heavy metal, punk, and rock characteristics. They aren't all homosexuals and they usually dress in feminine clothing to bring attention when they first start out."

By the time the third question is being answered, the questioner loses interest and changes the subject.

Psh. Fine. Next time don't bad mouth my music.

Continuing; When said VK band starts to dress more casually, it's usually because they're more widely accepted and when they've signed to a major record label. An example (I think) would be Miyavi. His hair used to be multicolored but now it's black.

Around 2006 or so

Now

Although, even now he still kinda has the VK look I guess

He's referred to (at least I think so) as the "Natural Beauty". With or without make-up, he still looks feminine and puuuurdy.

Oh my.

I seem to have gotten a bit off topic. Eh heh...

So yeah, uh, roughly a year since I've been a fan of my... favorite band...?
Sorry, that sounded redundent for some reason.

The first time I heard one of their songs was in the Kuroshitsuji II opening song. It was also their first time having one of their songs used in an anime. Of course, some of their fans thought that they just made a cheap song to give to the anime. But the vocalist replied that they had not adjusted their style to the anime. They still used their same skills to make music for people to enjoy.

How thoughtful.

Here's where I first heard their song.

And that wonderful band is (even though it was listed in the opening song) ......*drumroll*.......

the GazettE!!!

The song from Kuroshitsuji II is SHIVER. That was in their single SHIVER when it was released at the time. The single also had two other songs: Naraku and Hesitating Means Death.

Their current look has changed recently I think. This picture was their look for their lastest single VORTEX. They had a preview of one of their songs from the album, also called VORTEX, on their website http://gazette.pscompany.co.jp/gazette/  Of course it's only on the Japanese link on the site. The American one just leads to their Myspace account which isn't updated as much as the Japanese one.

This album had two other songs as well: BREAK ME and UNCERTAIN SENSE.

I've yet to find a song by them that I do not like. Well, actually, Cassis was okay. A lot of people really like it but out of all the songs they've made, that's the one that I like the least but not completely hate.

So, as a reward for reading through all this, you will have the great opportunity to have the chance to listen to their three latest songs. I will post more about this band later if I feel like it :3

Mata ne?

VORTEX
UNCERTAIN SENSE
BREAK ME
